We made an interesting discovery on a late model 179 series V8 Toyota Land Cruiser that came in for a service.
A customer came in for a routine service and we found algae in the fuel filter and fuel tank.
This can be caused by a number of reasons like condensation build up, water infiltration and potential heat which makes the perfect breeding ground for bacteria.
Algae and any other contaminations can cause issues with fuel filters and engine filters, which can cause even further damage to the engine.
After a clean out of the fuel tank and filter housing and replacement of the fuel filter, we added some fuel additives to help break down any further contaminants to the fuel tank and therefore engine.
Another happy customer!
